PRINCIPAL, CHOREOGRAPHER, DANCE TEACHER AND MUSICAL DIRECTOR:
ALEXANDRA HUGHES A.B.A.T.D (Stage) (MISS ALEX)

Alexandra began her dance training at the age of 3 at the Celia Raye School of Dancing. At the age of 10 she transferred to the Ford School of Dance where she continued to Senior level under Linda Ford. Following a Performing Arts course at college she accepted her first teaching position at the Point The Way Ballet School. She then went on to teach for TheatreTrain and became Choreographer and Assistant Director of the NODA London Youth Group. Alexandra choreographed, directed and musically directed a number of pantomimes and musicals before gaining her teaching qualifications with the British Association of Teachers of Dancing. She established ASPA in October 2000 (after being qualified for just a month!) in order to train and prepare children and young adults for the wonderful world of performing arts. Teaching has always been her great love and as an experienced nursery nurse she especially enjoys teaching the Starlite class who start their training at just 2 years old. Alexandra is a firm believer of self-discipline and respect and runs a tight ship although she feels that learning through fun and the enjoyment of performing is what really helps the students to develop. She hopes that all of her students will learn to love to perform as much as she does.

DANCE TEACHER & ASSISTANT TO THE PRINCIPAL: NATALIE CUE (MISS NATALIE)

Natalie was trained from the age of 2 by Mrs Ford and then Linda Ford which is where she met Alexandra. Natalie is a qualified teacher with the ITDA and has a BTEC in Sports and Fitness. She is also a qualified First Aider. Natalie began teaching at The Ford School and especially enjoys teaching tap and hip-hop. Natalie is Alexandra’s ‘right-hand man’ and shares her love for dance. After years of training she is very proud to be able to share her knowledge with the students and give them the opportunities to perform and develop.

WARDROBE MISTRESS & ASSISTANT TO THE PRINCIPAL: VIVIENNE COLLINS (MISS VIV)

Viv is in charge of all ASPA administration such as fees, show tickets and uniform orders as well as making costumes with Carole Cue for all shows. Her helpfulness, professionalism and experience make her a well-liked and highly respected member of the team. Viv is your first port of call should you have any questions regarding ASPA.

DANCE TEACHER: RACHEL CROSS (MISS RACHEL)

Rachel trained at Colin’s Performing Arts and has her teaching certificate with the BATD as well as a BTEC in Sports and Fitness.

DRAMA COACH: STEPHEN HUGHES (MR STEVE)

Steve performed professionally as a child in drama productions at the Queen's Theatre (Hornchurch) before going to college to study Theatre, Art and Design. An experienced actor and Director, Steve is glad to be able to share his knowledge with the students and help them to 'tread the boards like a pro'!
